Easter is getting close. And even though we do not miss the taste of eggs, we’ve decided to prepare something special for those of you who do miss eggs in their diet. Roasted avocado with egg free tofu spread. You need tofu and kala namak (black salt). Kala namak is an Indian salt in which the sulfur compounds cause the salt to smell like hard-boiled eggs. It’s often used in vegan recipes and helps to simulate the flavor of egg in dishes. Do you miss egg spreads for breakfast? This is the recipe for you!
1 ripe avocado
90g natural tofu
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp of turmeric
1/3 kala namak (black salt)
fresh lemon juice
Wash avocado. Cut it into half and remove the pit.
Blend tofu with the spices. Add black salt and black pepper. If necessary, add some more salt. Transfer tofu mixture into the avocado halves.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Bake the avocado for about 10-15 minutes. When baked, sprinkle avocado with some lemon juice and chopped chives. Enjoy!
